100% of Iligan medical frontliners get Covid-19 jabs

ILIGAN CITY (PIA)–The city government of Iligan has inoculated 100% of its target health care workers belonging to A1 priority group, an official of the City Health Office (CHO) reported in a public briefing on Wednesday.

CHO Chief and Emergency Operations Center Health Cluster Manager Dr. Belinda Lim said the 3,626 listed medical workers have already completed their doses as of September 7.

Under the expanded A1 group, 64 are considered fully vaccinated after getting the single shot of the Janssen vaccine while 1,074 have received their second dose of the other vaccines.

“Wala tay master list ani but the LGU has accomplished 1,138 sa A1 expanded. Kato ning mga pahabol nga nipuli sa niresign ug mga family members sa mga hospital-based health frontliners,” she said.

[We don’t have a master list for this, but the LGU has accomplished 1,138 in A1 expanded. These are additional, the replacement of those who resigned and the family members of hospital-based health frontliners.]

Lim also said that 52% or 13,414 senior citizens were fully vaccinated while the number of inoculated members of the A3 priority group is now at 73% or 13,474. On the other hand, only 22 essential workers in the public and private sectors have completed their doses.

The CHO recently started giving vaccine shots to indigents or the A5 priority group, thus, only 395 received the initial dose.

Overall, 31,674 Iliganons were fully vaccinated against Covid-19 which is 12.46% of the 254,181 target population that must be inoculated to achieve her immunity.

The CHO reiterates its call to Iliganons who are eligible for the vaccination program to get vaccinated against Covid-19 in the face of the greater threat posed by the more transmissible Delta variant.

To date, Iligan City has tallied a total of 3,994 confirmed cases of which 815 are active and 294 have died.

The city also recorded nine Delta variant cases after the CHO logged three more cases on September 5. The seventh case is IC-2995, a 59-year old housewife from Brgy. Dalipuga with no known exposure and has four close contacts. Delta case 8 or IC-3030 is a 56-year old female public teacher from Brgy. Mahayahay while Delta case 9 or IC-3017 is a banana vendor from Brgy. Tibanga. (APB/PIA Lanao del Norte)
