LIBERTAD, Misamis Oriental (PIA)–The Office of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management here announced its first recorded coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) positive patient.
The patient arrived at the Laguindingan Airport last June 6 from Manila as a Locally Stranded Individual (LSI) and was directly placed at the isolation unit of this town.
During the triaging, the said patient had been examined to have a cough and sore throat, all are symptoms of the COVID 19. After the examination, the patient underwent swab testing using the Rapid Diagnostic Test and RT-PCR, June 11 which yielded a positive result.
To assure the safety, the Local Inter-Agency Task Force of Libertad through its Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (LDRRMO) will convey the positive patient to a Tertiary Hospital, the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) in Cagayan de Oro City where the patient can be properly assisted.
Libertad IATF would like to assure the public that they have followed the proper protocols and standard guidelines in handling the said case and in running their isolation ward.
They would also like to remind the public to always follow the health guidelines set by the government such as proper handwashing, observing social distancing, and wearing of face masks.
The local IATF appealed to all the residents to extend their continuous cooperation and constant prayers so that the said disease will not spread in the community. (JAKA/PIA10)
