CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–The 4th Infantry Division (4ID) of the Philippine Army clarified that there was no red-tagging made for the community pantries here in Northern Mindanao.
“4ID never mentioned red-tagging nor made any red-tagging,” Major Rodulfo Cordero Jr., 4ID spokesperson said.
Red-tagging of community pantries in the country has resulted in the closure of some, but in region 10 the spokesperson clarified that there is no such a thing.
Cordero even expressed that they suspected that the issue was created and sensationalized by allies of the CPP-NPA to destroy and put the blame on the government.
“Actually, our view is that this is created by the allies of CPP-NPA because they want to sensationalize the issue to destroy the government. They would create an issue then put the blame on the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the government to discredit the bureaucracy ,” he added.
On the alleged red-tagging of the community pantry in Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro, Cordero said, is taken from the internet and the link is a screenshot of the videos to connect it to the communist group. “Such is not an act of the AFP,” Cordero maintained.
4ID declared it supports the efforts of the organizers of community pantries since these help the people. (JAKA/PIA10)
