51 Ozamiz brgys unite in bloodletting activity

OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)—Amidst the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in the country, the City Government of Ozamiz in partnership with Mayor Hilarion A. Ramiro Sr. Medical Center (MHARS-MC) conducted the bloodletting activity to the 51 barangay captains in the city held at Barangay Malaubang Covered Court, here.

Anchored with the theme, “Dugoyanihan, 1 Pamilya, 1 Lahi, 1 Bansa, Give Blood and Make the World a Healthier Place,” the activity aims to heighten public awareness on the importance of saving the lives of thousands of people, primarily the residents of Ozamiz City by donating blood.

This is one of the government’s efforts to help those who are badly in need of blood transfusions like dengue patients, accident victims, people with blood disorders and other blood demands during emergencies especially in this time of the pandemic.

(This is the first time that the 51 punong barangays in the city unite in an activity through the request of Mayor Ando and Asenso Ozamiz administration, which also gave 100 percent of its support in addressing the limited supply of blood in the blood bank in MHARS Medical Center)

The target of the activity is to donate 100-150 bags of blood to MHARS Medical Center. (SMRN/PIA Misamis Occidental)
