CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental (PIA)–As part of the Philippine Army’s (PA) initiative in bolstering coordination among its various units, the newly installed commander of the 402nd Infantry “Stingers” Brigade (402nd Bde) visited the 58th Infantry “Dimalulupig” Battalion (58th IB) troopers to realign their strategies and activities in the attainment of long lasting peace in northern Mindanao and neighboring regions.

“I personally came here to know and see what more we can do to help and assist you,” said 402nd Bde Col Adonis Ariel G. Orio to the Dimalulupig Troopers, July 24.

Welcomed by 58th IB Commanding Officer Lt Col. Rick Canatoy, staff officers, and enlisted personnel, the visit resulted in a briefing presentation on the battalion’s current campaigns and accomplishments alongside a discussion of best practices and concerns among troops with Orio.

With the 402nd BDe being located in the CARAGA region, both units fall under the 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division internal security operations which handles New People’s Army-Communist Terrorist Group (NPA-CTG) threats in Caraga and some part of Northern Mindanao.
