Aloran town beefs up vax campaign to accommodate A4 group

ALORAN, Misamis Occidental (PIA)–To commence the vaccination of the A4 priority group or the frontline personnel in essential sectors, Aloran town still needs to meet the 50% vaccination rate of the senior citizens or A2 priority group.

“Malayo pa po kami sa 50 percent sa mga senior citizens dito sa aming bayan so that we can move to A4 category (We are still far from vaccinating 50% of senior citizens here in our town so that we can move to the A4 category),” Aloran Mayor Junipher Roa said during the Network Briefing News with PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar, August 4.

Roa said the senior citizens do not know very well how to use gadgets so they believe what they hear through radio or rumors that are not true. The senior citizens, especially those from far-flung barangays, also find it difficult to go to the vaccination center.

With this, the Local Government of Aloran conducted an emergency meeting to all senior citizen presidents in every barangay and health workers to inform the people that the vaccines are safe.

“Nag-offer na kami ng free transportation sa mga senior citizens papuntang vaccination center at pabalik sa kanilang bahay (We offered free transportation services to senior citizens going to vaccination centers and back to their houses),” the mayor said. (SMRN/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
