CAMIGUIN (PIA)–The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Camiguin, with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Camiguin Police Provincial Office, initiated the conduct of the “Duterte Legacy: Barangayanihan cum RCSP Serbisyo Caravan” to all RCSP target barangays in the province, with the activity kicking-off in Barangay Owakan, Mahinog, November 15.
“Tumong niini nga kalihokan mao ang paghimo niini nga bag-ong lagda – ang pagdala sa mga serbisyo sa gobyerno diri mismo sa pultahan sa mga barangay,” DILG Camiguin Program Manager Lorjezza Quimzon-Siao said.
(The aim of this activity is to make this the new norm – to bring the government services right to the door step of the barangays)
The DILG Camiguin provided tools to combat COVID-19, such as, alcohol, face masks, and vitamins to the barangay.
Other services provided by national government agencies (NGAs) were (1) “libreng gupit” from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and PNP, (2) processing of Philsys National ID from Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA);
(3) Technical assistance for small and medium business enterprises by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), (4) registration of workers association by Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), (5) processing of clearance and paralegal services for farmers from Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR);
(6) Processing of building, electrical, and other permits by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and (7) assistance on online registration by the Social Security System (SSS).
In addition, the provincial government also provided food packs, vaccinations, kiddie tooth brushes, IEC materials, and technical assistance on available services to the barangay.
The Serbisyo Caravan will continue to deliver basic services to the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) target barangays following this schedule: November 16 – Barangay Manduao, Catarman, November 17 – Barangay Cuña, Sagay, November 18 – Barangay Benhaan, Mambajao, and November 19 – Barangay Butay, Guinsiliban
This activity is part of the RCSP, a program which aims to address identified issues of the community by closing governance and development gaps through provision of needed government programs, projects and activities (PPAs) to attain sustainable peace, social justice and ultimate development.
This program is under Executive Order No. 70, or the institutionalization of the whole-of-nation approach to end local communist armed conflict (ELCAC). (DILG Camiguin/PIA-10)
