MARAWI CITY (PIA) — The Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD-BARMM) has started distributing relief goods to the residents of Lanao del Sur. A house-to-house distribution is being conducted by the Ministry’s social workers to the affected families in the towns of Malabang, Marogong, Madalum, Kapatagan, Sultan Dumalondong, and Butig.
Among the prioritized beneficiaries were the Persons Under Monitoring (PUM) and Persons Under Investigation (PUI), as well as the indigent families from the said areas.
The relief packs include food and non-food items such as rice, sardines, coffee, sugar, milk, noodles, toothpaste, laundry soap, bleaching solution for disinfection.
Meanwhile, Minister Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG-BARMM) led the distribution of food packs to its staff Thursday, March 26, inside the Bangsamoro Government Center in Cotabato City.
“While nagbibigay tayo ng tulong sa mga constituents natin, tinutulungan din natin ang mga empleyado natin (while we provide assistance to our constituents, we also help our employees),” Sinarimbo said, noting that employees are also affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
Each relief pack contains 50 kilograms of rice, 20 cans of corned beef and sardines, cooking oil, 1 pack of coffee, vitamins and personal protective equipment (PPEs). (Bangsamoro Government)
