Brgy. Mainit residents happy for serbisyo caravan

ILIGAN CITY (PIA)–Residents of Brgy. Mainit conveyed their gratitude after a serbisyo caravan of the City Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (CTF-ELCAC) was held in their far-flung area Wednesday, July 28, carrying different government services.

The serbisyo caravan conducted at Sitio Kapisahan was said to be the first time to have happened to their community given the distance of their place from the city. This benefited five sitios including the host village, Upper and Lower Pinatagan, Locloc, and Caribao.

“Nagpasalamat mi og dako nga nia mo diri… Sukad-sukad, karon pa gyud nahitabo. Karon pa nako nakita ang mga lungsuranon, mga department head nga nia karon diri,” said Brgy. Captain Alfredo Mehino.

[We are very thankful that you are here… Ever since, this happened just now. It is just now that I saw the citizens of the city, our department heads that are here today.]

Tribal Chieftain Jose “Datu Ayunan” Samohan further expressed happiness as he is positive that officials have already witnessed what their main problem is.

“Dako kaayo mig pasalamat nga dinhi sa tumoy gyud, nakaabot gyud ang atong [serbisyo] caravan pinaagi sa ELCAC inubanan sa line agencies ug ila pong nalantaw ang kalisod sa among dalan,” he said.

[We are really thankful because in the very end, our [serbisyo] caravan reached here through the ELCAC along with the line agencies and they saw how difficult our road is.]

Meanwhile, residents also expressed their issues on the ground as they are confident that the government can help them resolve such.

Some of the noted concerns were their unpaved roads especially leading to Sitio Kapisahan, water system, and revival of detachment at Sitio Caribao for the protection of the people in the barangay.

In response, Vice Mayor Jemar Vera Cruz assured the residents that the government is ready to give answers to their problems as he highlighted that this would also be where their effectiveness will be measured.

“Maaddress kini tinuuray kay nia man ta. Ang problema nga ilang gipagawas atong nakita nga ila gyung panginahanglan so kita sa local government, we are here to respond to the needs of the people. Very important makita nato [diri] ang atong effectiveness as local government officials if we see and respond to the needs of our people accordingly kay kung dili na nato ni tubagon, wala tay pulos,” he said.

[This will be rightly addressed because we are here. The problems are seen to be what they really need so we, in the local government, are here to respond to the needs of the people. It is very important that we see [here] our effectiveness as local government officials if we see and respond to the needs of our people accordingly because if we do not answer this, we are useless.]

With that, the residents are hopeful that these will all come true and that the government will continue to bring necessary services to their community.

“Hinaot nga ang mga gipangsaad matuman. Panghinaot nako nga dili lang unta karon lang pud ang pag-anhi sa among lugar. Kung mahimo, sa matag-unya, ilang pagasusihon ang problema sa among lugar,” said Samohan.

[I hope that their promises will be fulfilled. I hope that their visit here is not just for now. If possible, every now and then, they will inspect what the problems of our area are. (CRG/PIA-ICIC)
