TFBM chief: Gov’t envisions building a better Marawi

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)–Highlighting various completed projects in this city, Task Force Bangon Marawi Chairperson Sec. Eduardo del Rosario said the government aims to build a better Marawi City.

The TFBM chief also said the 56 member agencies under the Task Force work closely with the City Government of Marawi and Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur.

“TFBM, in close coordination with the local government unit and provincial local government unit, will continue our efforts in rebuilding Marawi. Sosobrahan pa natin (We will exceed our efforts). This will be a much better Marawi with all infrastructures that will serve as a catalyst of growth and development,” he said.

Del Rosario also shared that the Task Force adhered to its rehabilitation methodology in three phases. The government provided early interventions for the first phase, which include the provision of emergency assistance, provisions for water, food, clothing, construction of evacuation centers and temporary shelters, financial and livelihood support provisions for health services hygiene and sanitation, restoration of educational activities, social cartography to determine land and buildings ownership and biometric profiling of legitimate Marawi residents.

For the second phase, debris management, the recovery and detonation of thousands of improvised explosive devices and unexploded bombs took place.

Highlighting the final phase, the full blast construction of horizontal and vertical public infrastructures inside the city’s most affected area also began in July 2020.

He noted that in just one year and two months, a lot of infrastructure projects in MAA have been completed.

To date, various public infrastructures inside and outside the most affected area have been constructed and repaired. These are barangay complexes in Tolali, Datu Naga, Datu sa Dansalan, West Marinaut, and Moncado Kadingilan, Maritime outpost, Banggolo Bridge and Mapandi Bridge.

Outside MAA, completed projects are Central Material Recovery Facility, 18.97 kilometer Marawi Transcentral roads Contract Packages 1B and 2, Pantar, Lanao del Norte to Marawi City road, Maul Lumbaca Ingud – Ranaranao road, Marawi City Fire Substation, PNP COMPAC 1, Lilod Guimba Bridge and Rorogagus East barangay health station.
