ILIGAN CITY (PIA)–Some ten families who were affected by the fire in Barangay Buruun here received food packs from Plan International.
Edelyn Waga, one of the fire victims, conveyed gratitude to Plan International and City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) for the assistance given to them.
“Dako kaayo akong pasalamat sa Plan kay dako sila natabang nako. Salamat pod sa CSWD ug sa among barangay sa mga ayuda nila namo,” she said.
According to her, the assistance has been helpful for her since she is a solo parent of three kids.
The distribution of grocery packs is implemented by Plan International with funds from the European Union through the MOVE UP 4 Mindanao project.
MOVE UP 4 Mindanao project manager John Tamayo said that under the project, the Shock Responsive Social Protection program is being implemented in partnership with CSWDO and the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.
