Camiguin holds consultative meeting with foreign residents

CAMIGUIN (PIA)—To give foreign resident nationals a chance to discuss their personal queries regarding their residency, the Provincial Government of Camiguin partnered with the Bureau of Immigration (BI)-10 in conducting a consultative meeting in every municipality, March 9-11.

The first meeting held at Mambajao Municipal Session hall was attended by hundreds of foreign residents who were able to address different questions regarding legal documents for residency renewal, different visa applications, citizenship, and the like.

BI representatives reminded the foreign residents to signify their presence to their office every first 60 days of the year for verification purposes.

If the foreign residents are not in the country within those days, they should immediately proceed to the office within the 15-day extension after their arrival in the country.

To be identified easily and have an ease of transaction, the provincial government plans to make a specific identification card for the foreign resident.

The province considers this meeting as a way to discuss government’s program in peace and order, security protection, legal issues, and promulgation of the rules and regulations in the country. (Marc Ian A. Salem/PIA10)
