Camiguin holds tree growing activity with 3,250 seedlings

CAMIGUIN (PIA)–Targeting to plant 3,250 seedlings, the provincial government here has already enlisted 65 participants for the province-wide simultaneous tree growing activity, December 18.
The province is set to plant 900 seedlings in Mambajao, Catarman (750), Sagay (500), Guinsiliban (400), and Mahinog (700). 

The five towns of the province have already identified the areas where the seedlings will be planted. Barangays without areas determined yet are subject for identification on the ground.

Personnel of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) have already coordinated with each barangay and town to assist them for the said activity.

Prior to the province-wide tree growing activity, various local government units in Camiguin have already planted seedlings in their areas. On December 5, the provincial government here held the tree growing activity at Mantigue Island.

The Philippine National Police also held the same activity, December 11 within the five hectares of the National Greening Program site at Sitio Pamahawan, Campana, Pandan, Mambajao. (RTP/PIA10)
