Camiguin Lupong Tagapamayapa grants incentive award to 3 brgys

CAMIGUIN (PIA)—The Lupong Tagapamayapa here named Barangay Liong in Guinsiliban, Barangay Pontod in Mahinog, and Barangay Pandan in Mambajao as the areas which reached the target assessment score in the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA).

Aimed to institutionalize a system granting benefits and incentives to the Lupong Tagapamayapa demonstrating exemplary performance, the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) Provincial Assessment Team concluded its on-site validation to nominated barangays per municipality, March 5. 

The barangays were validated by the inter-agency assessment team composed of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine National Police (PNP), Prosecutor’s office, Liga ng mga Barangay, and Civil Society Organization (CSO) Representative. T

Pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular 2016-58, the top barangays were assessed through the following criteria; (1) Efficiency of Operations, (2) Effectiveness in Securing the Settlement of Interpersonal Dispute Objective of the Katarungang Pambarangay, (3) Creativity and Resourcefulness of the Lupong Tagapamayapa, (4) Area or Facility for KP Activities, and (5) Financial or Non-Financial Support.

The grantees will receive cash awards which they can use to utilize their programs for the improvement of the Lupong Tagapamayapa. (Marc Ian A. Salem with reports from DILG10/PIA 10)
