Camiguin sets requirements upon entry of persons

CAMIGUIN (PIA)—Following the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) guidelines for General Community Quarantine, the Provincial Government of Camiguin now allows entry to and exit from the province provided that requirements are complied.

Based on Executive Order No. 23-D of Governor Jurdin Jesus Romualdo, all persons who enter the province shall be checked for symptoms of coronavirus disease (COVID)-19, and shall truthfully disclose their history of travel and possible COVID-19 exposure.

Those who will enter Camiguin are also required to comply with all health measures and protocols, including the presentation of proper identification and health clearances, mandatory self-monitoring, and mandatory quarantine, when so required by local health authorities.

Among the persons exempted from the mandatory quarantine, provided that they do not exhibit any of the symptoms of COVID-19, include drivers and crew of cargo and delivery vehicles, drivers of passenger vehicles, personnel of vessels regularly operating to and from the province, healthcare workers, and government officials and personnel.

Strictly, entry into the province for purposes of leisure shall not be permitted.

As for the sea vessels, the province will only allow 50 percent of the total passenger capacity to be transported to observe social distancing.

Jeepneys, vans and multicabs are now allowed to operate in the province provided that they comply with the rules set by the Department of Transportation.

Romualdo urged the residents to remain vigilant and still follow the quarantine protocols as these will also be adopted in the ’new normal.’ (RTP/PIA10)
