Cayetano, allies announce 80 more 10K Ayuda beneficiaries

Former House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano and his allies in Congress on Wednesday announced 80 Sampung Libong Pag-asa beneficiaries who will receive P10,000 cash assistance each.

In a Facebook livestream on June 23, Cayetano and his allies announced the names of the 80 beneficiaries who hail from different cities and municipalities in the Philippines, including Bulacan, Batangas, Laguna, Quezon City, Camarines Sur, Caloocan City, and Manila City.

Cayetano was joined by Taguig City Rep. Ma. Laarni “Lani” Cayetano, ANAKALUSUGAN Rep. Michael Defensor, Batangas Rep. Raneo “Ranie” Abu, Bulacan Rep. Jose Antonio Sy-Alvarado, and Laguna Rep. Dan Fernandez.

During the livestream, the former Speaker also introduced the “Alan Sari-Sari Store Community,” which will be officially launched next week.

According to Cayetano, the intended beneficiaries of the Alan Sari-Sari Store Community are sari-sari store owners who need support in their respective businesses.

Each beneficiary will receive P3,500 cash assistance, P2,500 of which is intended for the support of the store and the rest for their immediate needs.

Cayetano said they are also coordinating with food suppliers who can help provide sari-sari store owners with cheaper but quality products.

“The reality is kailangan din talaga nila ng tulong, but babalik at babalik tayo sa P10,000 ayuda. Kasi kahit mapuno mo ang sari-sari store, kung wala ring pambili ang mga kapitbahay mo, wala rin,” Cayetano said.

(The reality is these people really need help – which is why we keep coming back to the proposed distribution of P10,000 cash assistance for every Filipino family. Because even if you are able to restock and fill your store with products, but your customers do not have the money to buy from you, then all of this is futile.)

In addition, Cayetano and his group said they will be giving away mobile phones with phone call cards to 10 recipients who wish to start their own online business.

Senator Pia Cayetano, Sampung Libong Pag-asa host Andrei Felix, former professional basketball players Jay-R Reyes and JC Intal, and social media content creator Angelica Yap also made appearances during the livestream.
