CDO SK beefs up drive vs COVID-19 thru social media

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security for Region 10 (CORDS-X) and Presidential Communication and Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin M. Andanar commended Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairperson of Barangay 32 and Federation President John Michael Seno for using the social media platform to boost the campaign against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID 19).

During the CORDS X Podcast, SK Chairperson Seno highlighted their efforts against COVID-19  through the use of the social media platform.

One of the programs that they have been doing is to assist the youth who are applying for the city scholarship during this pandemic crisis.

Aside from that, the SK council also helps in informing the youth and the public of the new guidelines issued by the National Inter-Agency Task Force since it releases certain guidelines from time to time.

Seno also said that they would be conducting webinars for the different barangays in the city by the end of this month with speakers from the different agencies to talk and to explain the various interventions and responses to the vitus.

The webinar will be implemented with the city barangay council of the city.
“We want to involve the youth in this matter. For example, we will give them a load so they can join the webinars.” Seno said.

“What I have learned during this pandemic is that as a youth it is important that you are well disciplined,” he added.

Aside from that, it is important to value respect, he shared.  “Respect what is being implemented by the government, and respect what we need to do for our government.”

“Instead of complaining, let us look at the reason why the government is implementing such measures to flatten the curve of the pandemic disease and prevent it from spreading. It is also important to keep a healthy body and lifestyle to avoid getting infected,” he said. (JAKA/PIA10)
