MARAWI CITY (PIA) — The Community and Family Services International (CFSI) distributed nebulizers to persons with special needs (PWSN) in Marawi City.
The distribution is part of the Psychosocial Support Component ng Marawi Recovery Project (MRP) implemented by CFSI and funded by the Australian Government- Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
In the time of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis, the nebulizers are a big help for the PWSNs as these are considered life-saving medical equipment especially to those who have respiratory-related conditions.
CFSI targets to distribute 111 assistive devices. Of this target, 27 percent (%) are nebulizers while 73% are adult wheelchair, pediatric wheelchair, pressure relief mattress, commode chair, standard walker, quad cane, pointed cane and cane with a chair.
As of April 15, 2020, CFSI has distributed 10 nebulizers to its beneficiaries in Marawi City.
Farida T. Mangcaan, head of CFSI Sub-Office in Iligan City and Project Coordinator of MRP, shared during the Radyo Pilipinas Marawi interview on Saturday that the assistive devices can provide help on the technical validation and guidance for the Marawi City Health Office.
CFSI has also been distributing various livelihood starter kits to the internally displaced persons of Marawi City. Out of the 4,000 target beneficiaries to receive these kits until 2021, 2,613 households have already received as of March 31, 2020. (LELA/ PIA ICIC)
