Clarin SK distributes health kits, food packs for children

CLARIN, Misamis Occidental (PIA)—The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) in Barangay Pan-ay chaired by SK Chairperson Aljon Mariquit distributed health kits and food packs for young children as part of their coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) response.


This is the 7th youth-led project implemented by the SK council in collaboration with the barangay health workers, barangay peace-keeping action team, barangay nutrition scholar, barangay officials and other youth volunteers.


The SK council has emphasized the importance of starting self-care and protection among children in order to achieve optimum health care by adopting precautionary measures against all form of diseases.


This also showcases SK’s commitment and enthusiasm in performing their duties as young officials during this time of health crisis.


 A total of 704 children aged 3-17 years old in all the eight sitios of the barangay  benefited from the program.


In an interview, Mary Ann Baluran, a solo parent said, “Isip usa ka solo parent, nalipay ko kay nakadawat akong mga anak ug face masks ug sabon apil food packs gikan sa paningkamot sa atong SK council (as a solo parent, I am happy that my children receive face masks, soap and food packs from the SK council).”


“Dako kaayo nig tabang sa amo kay wala may face mask akong mga anak hinaut magpadayon ang mga programa para sa mga kabataan,” she added.
