With the rising confirmed cases of COVID-19, the Aboitiz Group continues to extend its support to the frontline workers, who are battling to contain and overcome the virus.
Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. and the Aboitiz Foundation Inc. turned over medical supplies such as surgical masks and gloves, industrial gloves, safety goggles, IR thermometers, digital contact thermometers, and alcohol to the local government of Panabo City, and the Municipalities of Carmen, Sto. Tomas, Braulio E. Dujali and Kapalong. The 89th Infantry Battalion based in Sto. Tomas and the 1003rd Infantry Battalion based in Mahayag, Davao City, who have vital roles as frontliners, were also part of the beneficiaries.
The donation will help the brave first responders as they continue to fight and protect themselves from COVID-19 while serving their communities.
“The Municipality of Carmen is blessed to be the recipient of Davao Light and the Aboitiz Foundation. Indeed, these items are really of great help to our frontliners and other constituents who have extended their support to fight the spread of COVID-19.” said Municipal Mayor of Carmen, Davao del Norte Virginia J. Perandos, Ed. D.
“This is our response to the call of our national government to help our fronliners in controlling the spread of the disease in hopes to halt the increasing number of COVID-19 cases.” said Davao Light President and COO Rodger S. Velasco.
Davao Light, together with the other Aboitiz Group Business Units in Mindanao namely the Aboitiz Power Corporation, Hedcor Inc., Therma South Inc., Therma Marine Inc., Cotabato Light, Apo Agua, and Aboitiz Equity Ventures, will continue its donation efforts and initiatives to assist the government in addressing the concerns brought about by this pandemic as well as spreading #PositiveEnergy to one community at a time.
