Police Regional Office 12 – Crime Rate in SOCCSKARGEN continues to deflate in a month of Enhance Community Quarantine and continues Law Enforcement Operation.
For the span of one (1) month, starting March 15, 2020 to April 15, 2020 crime rate in SOCCSARGEN goes down to 50.22% due to continued law enforcement and implementation of lockdown in the whole Region 12.
Further, crimes involving focus crimes decrease to 64.91% (murder, homicide, robbery, theft, physical injury, MC motornapping, MV motornapping and rape) compared to last year’s crime statistics of the same period.
Reports show comparing 2019 to 2020 Peace and Order Index (POI) composed of Index and Non-Index crime it shriveled from 1093 to 671 POI or reduced to 38.61%. While on Public Safety Index reduces to 534 to 139 or deflated to 73.97% compared to the same date and month of 2019 crime statistics.
PBGEN ALFRED S CORPUS stated that “ obviously, this ECQ and Lockdown is a big factor why crime perpetrators cannot perform their motives but PRO 12 personnel never took a break in pursuit to annihilate and suppress all form of criminal acts in the Region”
“Although this Pandemic Crisis brought us to this situation and lead us to implement this ECQ in some areas and lockdown in the SOCCSARGEN if we look behind it has a positive side for it helps to subdue lawless elements movements who want to continue to spread unkind things to the community, you know that is what we need in this trying times, we need to look at the brighter side of the events happening right now” PBGEN ALFRED S CORPUS added.
