CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)—To ensure capacity on agri-fishery project and program management, the Regional Technical Committee of the Civil Society Organizations (RTC-CSOs) of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office (DA-RFO)-10 convened for the evaluation of its one applicant, the Skills Mastery Institute for Learning Entrepreneurship and Success (SMILES) Foundation, Inc.
Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulations of DA-RFO 10 Carmelita T. Bajarla, who is also the chair of said committee, said the evaluation process aids the department to promote the efficient allocation and effective utilization of agri-fishery resources, consistent with the principle of equitable and sustainable development.
Said accreditation is pursuant to DA Administrative Order No. 8 Series of 2017.
Accredited CSO will be the agency’s partner to efficiently and effectively carry out the implementation of agri-fishery projects and encourage peoples’ participation in agricultural development.
The committee is composed of representatives from DA’s attached agencies, namely, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Philippine Crop Insurance, Corp. (PCIC), Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), Fertilizer Pesticide and Authority (FPA), Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), National Dairy Authority (NDA), Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA) and the Regional Agricultural and Fishery Council (RAFC).
In Region 10, Maramag Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative serves as the only accredited CSO of DA-RFO 10. (DA10/PIA10)
