CAMIGUIN (PIA)–In compliance to the recently issued national directives, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Camiguin Provincial Office conducted orientations to the local government units (LGUs) of Camiguin on the CY 2021 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), Safety Seal Certification Program (SSCP), and the Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP) throughout the months of June and July 2021.
The activity aims to provide assistance to LGUs in (1) learning the new system for the SGLG implementation per RA 11292, (2) familiarizing the mechanisms in the implementation of the SSCP, and (3) crafting their respective PSCPs.
The SGLG, under RA 11292, is an institutionalized award, incentive, honor and recognition-based program that encourages LGUs’ commitment to continuously progress and improve their performances along various governance areas.
The SSCP, in compliance to Joint Memorandum Circular No. 21-01 s. 2021, and DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2021-053 s. 2021, aims to increase compliance by private and public entities with the minimum public health standards set by the government.
The LGUs are tasked to inspect and monitor establishments in their respective areas (e.g. Malls, Wet Markets, Restaurants, etc.)
The crafting of the PSCP ensures that the LGUs continuously deliver quality public services during an emergency, disaster, or any other related disruption.
The participants for the activity included the municipal mayor, vice mayors, Sangguniang Bayan Committee Chairpersons on Peace and Order and Public Safety, and Laws and Rules, Liga ng mga Barangay Presidents, SK Federation Presidents, and municipal department heads. (DILG Camiguin/PIA-10)
