CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–Affirming that the establishment is compliant with the minimum public health standards set by the government, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)- Region 10 attained the Safety Seal Certification after thorough inspection, September 3.
The inspection of the establishment and issuance of the certificate was led by DILG City Director Jane J. Docallos, along with Cagayan de Oro City’s Certification Team members, Philippine National Police (PNP) City Director PCOL Aaron M Mandia and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) District Fire Marshall CInsp Roel Bacasnot.
For an establishment to be issued with the Safety Seal Certification, they must be able to comply with the requirements such as the use of the StaySafe.ph app or any contact tracing tool integrated with the same, availability of handwashing stations, and installation of physical barriers in enclosed areas to maintain social distancing among others.
Docallos commended the Regional Office for serving as an example to other establishments in strengthening efforts to implement the minimum public health standards. These efforts are deemed essential especially with the crisis being faced due to COVID-19 pandemic.
On the other hand, DILG-10 Assistant Regional Director Yvette Tolentino Sunga extended her appreciation to the Inspection and Certification Team of Cagayan de Oro for the unannounced inspection of the Safety Seal, which for her is the ideal way of doing the inspection.
“Rest assured that the Regional Office of DILG-10 would continue to strengthen our measures and will act on the recommendations provided to us in order to maintain an establishment that is safe not only for our clientele, but also for all our personnel here,” she said.
The Safety Seal Certification Program provided in IATF Resolution No. 87 aims to increase compliance of public and private entities with the minimum public health standards set by the government. This program also encourages said entities and establishments to adopt and use the Stay Safe.ph digital contact tracing application, which would all contribute in increasing consumer confidence while the country safely reopens the economy.
Guidelines of which are stipulated in DILG Memorandum Circular 2021-053. (DILG-10/PIA-10)
