DOLE-10 union group spearheads national women’s month celeb

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 Employees Association for Reform Efficiency Service and Teamwork (DEAREST) kicks off the National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) in a webinar session entitled Zoomversation: Republic Act No. 11313 on Safe Space Act (Bawal Bastos Law) participated by 177 employees in a virtual platform, March 4.

The 2022 NWMC highlights achievements for DOLE-10 women, gender equality, and women empowerment.

The theme “WE Make CHANGE Work for Women,” and this year’s subtheme “Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran,” emphasize women’s recognition as active contributors for change and development, exercising their rights, and making their voices heard.

DEAREST President Engr. Roselito Rosales said the union’s commitment on advocating gender equality as he paid tribute to the empowered DOLE-10 women who performed excellently in diverse responsibilities, functions and fields of interest, making them best examples of exceptional leaders.

With the country still reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic, DEAREST has lined-up significant topics relating to global health emergencies that include: WebTalk: Women and Children amidst Period of Pandemic by Philippine Commission on Women lawyer Khristine Kay M. Lazarito-Calingin, March 11; Botante Tips by COMELEC-10 Provincial Election Supervisor IV Lawyer Aleli Dayo-Ramirez, March 18; BATINGAW: Babae at Kanyang Katawan (Cervical Cancer Awareness) by 2021 Miss Intercontinental Cinderella Faye Obenita, March 22; and Cervical cancer, flu and pneumonia vaccination in partnership with the Department of Health, March 25.
