DPWH distributes hygiene packs to local schools

ILIGAN CITY – Four schools here recently received hygiene packs from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Lanao del Norte 2nd District Engineering Office as support to the annual Brigada Eskwela activity of the Department of Education (DepEd).

The schools that received the hygiene packs were Marie Cristina National High School, Angelico Medina Memorial School, Tambacan Elementary School, and Del Carmen Integrated School.

“This is our humble assistance to our local schools. Especially during this time of the pandemic, our teachers are also taking great risks just to give our children quality education,” expressed District Engineer Alykhan Ali.

Each hygiene pack contains face shields, face masks, and four gallons of ethyl alcohol.

Brigada Eskwela is the National Schools Maintenance Week which aims to bring together all education stakeholders to help prepare public school facilities for the opening of classes.

The Brigada Eskwela taps on the Filipino spirit of Bayanihan wherein private institutions and individuals, government agencies, local government units, and other organizations contribute to DepEd’s campaign of providing Filipino children access to quality basic education.

“Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we should continue to ensure that our children’s future is promising and safe,” Engr. Ali added.

In addition to hygiene packs, DPWH maintenance personnel also assisted in the school’s clean-up activity by mowing the open grounds of these campuses. (VNL/DPWH)
