CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Jan. 10 (PIA) –The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has resumed activities for the construction of Mandulog Bridge 1 in Barangay San Roque after affected landowners have come to an agreement with the Department.
DPWH Region 10 Director Zenaida Tan said after a series of consultations with stakeholders, the approach of the bridge project was redesigned to lessen the number of families affected.
Construction of Mandong Bridge 1 was put on hold after landowners of the affected properties in Barangay San Roque rejected the previous DPWH settlement offer for Right-Of-Way (ROW).
“Landowners have finally accepted our offer so we are reviewing legal documents submitted to facilitate payment of ROW claims,” said Director Tan.
“With the available ROW, DPWH can now work double-time to ensure early completion of Madulog Bridge 1,” added Director Tan.
The bridge construction is being implemented to replace the old Hinaplanon bridge that was destroyed by Tropical Storm Sendong. (DPWH/PIA10)
