TANGUB CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)–The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-10 distributed cash aid under the Assistance to Individuals to Crisis Situation (AICS) program for economically displaced individuals affected by various crisis in Tangub City, November 26.
A total of 2,504 beneficiaries received P3,000 cash and family food packs at Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSCST) and Sinanduloy Cultural Center.
DSWD-10 Social Welfare and Development Team Leader Edgar G. Requilme encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize wisely the financial assistance given.
“Kami sa DSWD nanghinaot gyud nga kini ilang madawat nga ayuda makatabang kanila, ilang tarungon og gasto nga mapalit gyud sa panginanglanon ug makatabang sa ilang pamilya dili lang sa materyal nga butang. Dako ni siya nga opportunity nga gihatag sa gobyerno nga matabangan ta karon nga naka-experience ta sa kalisod. Naa ang gobyerno nagpaluyo para mutabang sa atoa,” he said.
Requilme also said the agency continued supporting the recovery of individuals and families from unexpected crises through AICS.
We have succeeding schedules of assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation, this continues not only in Tangub, but also other areas in Region 10,” the team leader said.
In an interview during the cash assistance pay-out, Kristella Alad-ad from Barangay 4, Tangub expressed her gratitude to the DSWD for promoting and implementing such program.
“Nalipay kaayo mi ka’y naapil mi sa DSWD nga assistance para makapalit sad mi ug grocery ug sa among panginahanglan labi na karon nga pandemic wala mi’y trabaho. Nagpasalamat sad ko sa atong gobyerno nga naa ni nga programa kay kini makatabang kaayo sa mga katawhan,’ Alad-ad added.
(We are very happy that we have received the DSWD assistance so that we can buy groceries and our needs, especially this time of pandemic, we are jobless. I also thank our government for having this program because it is a big help to a lot of people)
AICS is part of the DSWD’s protective services for the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable or disadvantaged individuals and technical assistance and resource augmentation support to local government units (LGUs) and other partners. (SMRN/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
