CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–Jayquel S. Peñaloga, planning officer of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), bagged the Inter-Agency Statistics Quiz Show championship as the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-10 conducted virtually during the 32nd NSM Closing Ceremony, October 29.
Other winners were Hannah Marie E. Arreza, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) statistician, who placed second and April Princess Maye P. Catubig, administrative clerk of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) finishing third place.
Fifteen institutions participated in the quiz show coming from the national government agencies (11), local government units (2), and higher education institutions (2), namely the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), BFP, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Department of Agriculture (DA), DOLE, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), DTI, Land Transportation Office (LTO), National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), Philippine Ports Authority – Cagayan de Oro Port Management Office, Gingoog City Colleges, Inc. (GCCI), Misamis Oriental Institute of Science and Technology (MOIST), City Civil Registrar Office – Cagayan de Oro, and City Planning and Development Office – Gingoog.
The other 5 finalists include Irish Maika R. Lam of PPA-PMO CDO, Joycie A. Yañez of BFAR, Marlon M. Aquino of BIR, Johmar V. Dagondon of GCCI, and Angelie Camille V. Añabieza of DA.
The Inter-Agency Statistics Quiz Show is an annual activity of the Regional Statistics Committee-10 every NSM celebration in the region with the aim of instilling and raising awareness of official statistics in the government sector and academe. (PSA-10/PIA-10)
