DTI urges public to support local products

ILIGAN CITY (PIA) – Department of Trade and Industry invites everyone to spark hope this Christmas by supporting local products with “Kahayag.”

Kahayag or light is a promotional campaign featuring award-winning non-food products from Northern Mindanao. It officially premiered on the official DTI Philippines Youtube Channel on November 28, 2020. 

The Christmas special displayed the hard work and resilience of local artisans as they craft ordinary materials such as grasses, glass shards, bamboo, beads, clay, and even scratch papers into extraordinary fabrics, beads, and weaved products that define the rich heritage and culture of the region.

The promotional campaign is in line with DTI Regional Operations Group’s Christmas special project tagged as “PASA-LOVE.” 

PASA LOVE is a promotional campaign to “Buy Local” and also aims to help more Filipino entrepreneurs recover and economically stay afloat to make the Christmas tradition of giving more meaningful in these trying times.
