Police Regional Office 12 – The hike of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) violations in Region 12 continues since the entire region was initially placed under general community quarantine last March 23 based on a joint resolution passed by the Regional Peace and Order Council and the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
From March 23 to April 16, 2020, Region 12 already recorded 119 offenders for Article 151 (Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority) under RPC, 9 offenders for RA 11332 (Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act), 9 offenders for RA 9271 (Quarantine Act Of 2004) and 49 offenders for RA 11469 (Bayanihan to Heal as One Act). A total of 1,576 curfew violators, 6,688 vehicles denied entry and 8,070 persons denied entry was recorded.
“I am reminding the public to stop violating the rules on physical distancing, gathering in public places and doing illegal activities including illegal cockfight, illegal gambling and drinking sessions. Anyone who disregards the rules will be arrested”, said PBGEN ALFRED S CORPUS, RD PRO 12.
Moreover, local chief executives and heads of national government agencies in Region 12 have already approved to extend the regional lockdown until April 30 to curtail the growing cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the area. (Pat BJ Banico)
