The Asian Banker (TAB) has once again recognized GCash as the Best SuperApp and Platform at the recent Excellence in Retail Financial Services and Technology Innovation Philippines Awards 2023, confirming its position as the top mobile wallet app in the Philippines.
This year’s award, which marks the fifth consecutive TAB citation for GCash over the past three years, honors the mobile wallet’s unwavering efforts to make innovative financial services and efficient digital solutions accessible to millions of Filipinos.
The Asian Banker is one of the most stringent, prestigious, and open country-level award programs for consumer financial services and technology, honoring financial institutions for their vision, execution, market-leading financial service propositions, outstanding achievements, and best practices.
“Our mission is to empower as many Filipinos as we can by giving them access to digital financial solutions that can improve and simplify their lives in the digital era and beyond the new normal,” said Martha Sazon, president and chief executive officer of GCash. “We are honored to be cited once again by The Asian Banker, this time as the Best Super App and Platform, and this award motivates us even more to carry out our mission.”
The succession of awards from TAB affirms the position of GCash as the driver of digital financial transformation and inclusion in the country. In 2021, the app was honored as the Best Financial Inclusion Initiative/Application for its Social Amelioration Program (Distribution) in cooperation with the Philippine Government and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Likewise, GCash was awarded the “Best Digital Brand Campaign” for its #FightCOVID19 program as part of its GCash for Good initiative to aid underserved affected communities nationwide.
In 2022, GCash was awarded the Best Digital Wallet/Money Product in the Philippines and Best Digital Business Model in the Philippines, making GCash the sole fintech company in the country to receive both citations that year.
With the ever-growing demand for digital services in the country, GCash ensures that the platform is ready for the surge and continues to become a lifeline for Filipinos and businesses. Now serving over 81 million Filipinos, GCash remains firm in building a foundation that consists of safe, well-engineered, reputable, resilient, and stable platforms and practices – enabling it to address the needs of Filipinos and spur the growth of financial inclusion, and digitization of finance and financial services in the Philippines.
