Globe enhances 4G LTE network in Boracay, Pampanga and rest of Laguna

Globe customers in Boracay will now have another reason to stay in one of the best beaches in the world and remain connected with their loved ones.

The company has upgraded its network to 4G LTE, the new standard in mobile data, from the old 3G network in the island for a better call, SMS and data experience for tourists and residents.

“We really want to bolster further our 4G LTE presence in Visayas and Mindanao. Making our network fully 4G LTE in Boracay is a good start as we plan to do the same in more areas in the region.  Our customers will start to notice a better mobile experience as the latest technology in mobile data becomes more accessible to them.  To enjoy 4G LTE connection, we are asking our customers to upgrade their SIMS to the 5G-ready 4G LTE SIMs and use 4G LTE capable mobile devices so they can enjoy the best data experience,” said Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.

Aside from Boracay, Globe is fast tracking the completion of its network modernization in Pampanga and in the three remaining towns of Laguna such as Sta. Rosa, Calamba and Cabuyao before the month ends.

To enjoy all the benefits, advantages and best data experience of 4G LTE, Globe customers are encouraged to change to a 5G ready 4G LTE SIM card. This service is free of charge. Customers’ existing mobile numbers will not change. For security reasons, customers are advised to upgrade their SIM cards at all Globe Stores. For more information, please go to
