JIMENEZ, Misamis Occidental (PIA)–To support the government amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Jimenez provided face masks, on a monthly basis, to the youth as well as personal protective equipment (PPEs) to the frontliners of the town.
Jimenez SK Federation President Charles Galindo said during the Network Briefing News with Communications Sec. Martin Andanar, August 4, that the easiest and surest way for the SK to help their fellow youth is to provide them with the mask that could protect them from getting infected with the virus.
In terms of the assistance to the students, the federation gave free internet connections and USBs to senior high schools.
Galindo also presented the programs of the federation for the upcoming Linggo ng Kabataan celebration and these include environment programs like tree planting, coastal clean up, mangrove planting, and livelihood program.
“Sa aming livelihood program, nagbigay din kami ng small business para sa mga kabataan sa uptown areas na hindi masyado makarating ‘yung serbisyo sa gobyerno (For our livelihood program, we give small businesses to the youth in the uptown areas that cannot be easily reached by the services of the government),” he added.
