KAUSWAGAN, Lanao del Norte (PIA)–Determined to achieve herd immunity, the local government here initiated a contest to encourage more residents to get vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
This innovative effort is part of the strategies of the municipal government to increase the number of vaccinees.
Mayor Rommel Arnado issued Memorandum No. 152 Series of 2021 directing purok and barangay leaders to encourage their constituents to be vaccinated. The local government offers prizes to the barangay and purok leaders who will achieve the highest number of the first dose of the vaccine.
The categories and corresponding prizes areP5,000.00 for purok leader in every barangay who got the highest number of 1st dose
Covid-19 vaccinees for one month; 10 kilos of rice and groceries for every household in the purok who won the highest number of
of 1st dose covid vaccines for one month; P10,000.00 for purok leader who first achieves herd immunity (70% and above) for one month; and P20,000.00 for the Barangay who got the highest number of 1st dose covid vaccinees for one month.
