CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Jan. 6 (PIA) –Colors, creative dances, products and by-products of coconut highlighted the opening of the 7th Kuyamis Festival 2020 of Misamis Oriental which started on January 6 at Capitol Grounds, this city.

The celebration also highlights the founding anniversary of the province.

The program opened through a heartfelt message from the Department of Tourism Region 10 Director Marie Elaine Unchuan who said that “the Duterte administration believes that tourism is an important driver of the economy.”

“Tourism is a priority sector expected to reduce poverty and inequality and it’s the sector that defines us as a nation proud and protected with our natural attraction, heritage and culture,” she said.
