TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)– Members of the Provincial Development Council (PDC) of Lanao del Norte convened virtually on Wednesday, August 11, for the PDC 18th meeting.
Governor Imelda’ Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo presided over the first virtual PDC meeting together with the Lanao del Norte 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Dimaporo.
In her opening statement, the Governor extended her appreciation to all local chief executives (LCEs) and development partners for their constant support to the Province of Lanao del Norte.
The agenda of the meeting included the updated Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP) for 2020-2022 and the realignment of the Project on the concreting of Malingao Bualan Provincial Road under the 20% Development Fund 2020 Utilization Program of the provincial government.
During the meeting, the council approved adopting the PCIP and the proposed realignment of the project for the concreting of Malingao Bualan Provincial Road.
As the direct beneficiary of the program, Mayor Leoncio Bagol of the Municipality of Tubod expressed his gratitude for the support of the council and to the provincial government.
The Balik Probinsya, Balik Pag-asa Program was also tackled during the meeting. The BP2 is a program of the national government intended for those low-income families staying permanently or long-time residents of Metro Manila or NCR who want to return to their respective provinces to start anew.
One of the BP2 pilot projects in Mindanao is the Bagong Pag-asa Organic Village in the municipality of Kauswagan. Apparently, due to some circumstances, the houses for the project are not yet fully completed.
With this, Congressman Dimaporo suggested passing a resolution to hold a special meeting together with the host municipality, contractors, and other national line agencies committed to the said project.
“We need to exert extra focus on this, for it is a pilot project. We should ensure to provide adequate social services, resources, and opportunities to all beneficiaries,” said Governor Dimaporo.
The governor also appealed for the support of LCEs in the vaccination program.
She further reminded everyone not to be complacent and follow strictly the health standard protocols.
“It is very alarming that the COVID-19 cases in our province are increasing. With that, we are earnestly requesting your support and cooperation against this unseen enemy. Let us together help and protect our beloved province,” she said. (PIO-LDN)
