ILIGAN CITY (PIA) — The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte continues to extend assistance to the residents of Barangay Malingao in the municipality of Tubod after the barangay was placed on total lockdown to prevent the movement of people that may cause the proliferation of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the community.
The lockdown was declared by Tubod Municipal Mayor Leoncio C. Bagol right after the Department of Health Region 10 confirmed the result of a COVID-19 positive patient from the said barangay.
Governor Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo said the provincial government needs to help the municipal government of Tubod in its effort to provide basic goods to Malingao residents for them to stay at home and follow the strict implementation of the total lockdown.
Meanwhile, the number of Persons Under Investigation (PUIs) and the Persons Under Monitoring (PUM) in the province have gradually decreased. The Lanao del Norte Bantay COVID-19 Task Force recorded five PUIs and 68 PUMs as of April 3.
To help sustain this, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte continuously urged its constituents to take the threat of COVID-19 seriously by religiously practicing and observing the recommendations of the Department of Health. These include proper handwashing, frequent use of alcohol or sanitizer, physical or social distancing, avoiding crowded places, wearing of face mask in public, and staying at home, among others.
