MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)–The provincial government of Lanao del Sur received two units of patient transport vehicles from the Bangsamoro government’s Ministry of Health (MOH) on Monday, September 6.

The vehicles will be utilized by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to transport the remains of suspected, probable, or confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients from health facilities to their final resting place.

Provincial Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong received the vehicles in a simple ceremony held at the Provincial Capitol Compound in Marawi City.

Health Minister Bashary Latiph said the turnover of the new patient transport vehicles was realized through the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) of Member of the Parliament (MP) Ziaur-Rahman Alonto Adiong.

‘It’s putting our resources into good use’, said MP Adiong during the turnover. He also thanked BARMM Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim for supporting his initiative.

Also present during the ceremony were Integrated Provincial Health Office chief Dr. Alinader Minalang, Dr. Apasra Macumbal-Mapupuno, and Board Members Alico Mangata and Amer Bitor.
