MARAWI CITY (PIA) — The Lanao del Sur Provincial Government is distributing relief food packs to families in need amid the enhanced community quarantine due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat.
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development office started the house to house distributions to all the affected households on Tuesday, March 31, in keeping with social distance requirements.
According to the Provincial Information Office, a total of 27,383 food packs have been distributed to 10 municipalities in the province as of April 2.
These municipalities are Picong, 3,800; Kapatagan, 2,520; Pualas, 2,800; Buadipuso Buntong, 1,730; Bubong, 2,925; Ditsaan Ramain, 2,809; Lumbaca Unayan, 1,974; Mulondo, 2,000; Butig, 3,690; and Poona Bayabao, 3,135.
Each food pack contained 7 kilos of rice, 4 piece of noodles, 4 pieces of sardines, and 6 pieces of 3-in-1 coffee.
The Ligtas CoViD-19 Relief Operation of the Provincial Government will be conducted for 15 days across the province.
Provincial Governor Mamintal Adoing Jr. and City Mayor Majul Gandamra have issued Joint Executive Order (EO) No. 002 placing the province, including Marawi City, in an enhanced community quarantine to contain the spread of the COVID-19.
Under EO 002, entry into the province by residents and non-residents, regardless of the mode of travel, is strictly prohibited. It also requires strict home quarantine in all households. (APB/PIA ICIC)
