Lanao del Sur Guv tells arriving constituents to undergo self-quarantine

MARAWI CITY, Mar. 14 (PIA) — Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal A. Adiong Jr. reminded his constituents who will be going home to the province to place themselves under self-quarantine upon arriving at the area to avoid the spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).


“Sa mga kababayan kung Meranao na nais umuwi sa probinsiya bago isakatuparan ang community quarantine sa Metro Manila, pinapaalala po natin na tayo ay mag self-quarantine pagdating natin sa ating tutuluyan na bayan,” Adiong said in a video message posted in the Facebook page of the provincial government.
[To the Meranao people who want to return to the province before the community quarantine in Metro Manila will take effect, we remind you to undergo self-quarantine when you arrive in your hometown.]


Adiong also advised them to avoid crowded places such as markets, malls, restaurants, or family gatherings until the 14-27 day incubation period ends.


“Sa mga nakakaranas ng simtomas na nabanggit ng DOH na siyang palatandaan ng Covid-19 at may history ng exposure o travel, mamarapatin po nating makipag-ugnayan kayo agad sa health officer ng inyong munisipyo para sa mga akmang hakbang,” the governor added.
[For those who are experience symptoms mentioned by the DOH that are signs COVID-19 and have a history of exposure or travel, we recommend that you contact your municipal health officer immediately for appropriate steps.]


Adiong also reiterated the DOH advice for avoiding coronavirus such regular washing of the hands with soap or using rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer that contains alcohol, avoiding close contact with people who are sick, and social distancing.


He also urged his constituents to be alert and updated on the announcements and actions of the national government, the DOH, and the provincial government of Lanao del Sur.


Meanwhile, the Lanao del Sur Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office has set up an Assistance Desk Center at the Laguindingan Airport to document arriving Meranaos who will be requested to fill-out forms to indicate their point of origin, as well as, their succeeding destinations in Mindanao. This move aims to help in the contact tracing measure of the government.
