Lanao del Sur plots 20-year plan for economic growth, dev’t

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur(PIA)–The provincial government of Lanao del Sur sets a game-changer strategy aiming to attain long-term economic growth and development in the province.

Provincial Governor Mamintal Alonto Adiong Jr. bared in his final State of the Province Address Thursday, August 5, that a 20-year plan has been plotted dubbed Vision 2040.

“Sa tulong ninyo, ating nabuo ang Vision 2040 na kauna-unahang 20-year plan ng probinsya. Ang Vision 2040 ay magiging gabay natin tungo sa mas masaganang Lanao del Sur,” he said.

[With your help, we were able to form Vision 2040 which is the first-ever 20-year plan of the province. The Vision 2040 will be our guide towards a prosperous Lanao del Sur.]

Adiong stressed that this plan was a product of their observation and maintenance of their best practices as they perform their duties and responsibilities to their citizens and uphold the government’s permanence that works with its constituents to achieve common goals while preserving Islamic values and principles.

He added that such entails policy mechanisms which they hoped to be acted upon by the legislative branch for sustainable development. These include local incentives, sanitation and tourism codes, and the creation of a local economic investment and promotions office.

Adiong bared that their game-changer initiatives summed up in Vision 2040 were already submitted and passed on to the Bangsamoro government two weeks ago so that it may already be funded and implemented as soon as possible.

With the 20-year plan, the provincial governor expressed optimism that they can attain their vision through unity and strengthened determination.

“We will work hard together. We will push challenging and invisible boundaries together. And, we will sail together for a Lanao del Sur that is home to a vibrant, progressive, equitable, and prosperous economy that preserves our unique culture and ecosystem. I know in my heart that if we take steps together, we will make Lanao del Sur so much better—much, much better,” said Adiong. (CRG/PIA-ICIC)
