LGU Marawi fast-tracks construction of modern central market

MARAWI CITY (PIA) — The speedy construction of Grand Padian Market with an ice plant inside the most affected area of the city continues even in the midst of the coronavirus disease pandemic.

“Mabibigyan din natin ng mga pwesto ang ating mga displaced businessmen. They will be prioritized na mabigyan ng pwesto,” said Gandamra.

[We can provide space for our displaced businessmen. They will be prioritized to be given with marketing space.]

Gandamra further shared that the market has a modern design and will have an escalator and elevator for cargos.

“This Grand Market, I would say, is a modern Grand Market because we have the installation of escalators, elevators for the cargo. Ito ay state-of-the art na market,” he added.

The mayor is also confident that the timeline for the construction remains on track. He is also delighted with the progress of the rehabilitation works.

“I am very happy with the progress of the rehabilitation area in the ground zero dahil tayo po ay nakatutok [because we are focused on it.] In fact with the help of Sec.
