LGUs Kolambugan, Tangcal strengthen cooperation for peace, dev’t

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA) – The local government units of Kolambugan and Tangcal agreed to create an inter-local government cooperation to advance the interest of their respective constituents.


Mayor Lorenzo V. Mañigos of Kolambugan and Mayor Fatima M. Tomawis of Tangcal with the concurrence of their respective Sangguniang Bayan Members signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for Inter-Local Government Cooperation to strengthen peace and development.


The signing was held during the joint session of the two Sangguniang Bayan held Wednesday, November 25 at the Kolambugan Integrated Business Center, Poblacion, Municipality of Kolambugan.


The MOA is in line with Executive Order No. 70 issued by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to end local communist armed conflict and at the same time create an avenue to converge as one unit in building lasting peace and sustainable development.


Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo who graced the joint session lauded the gestures of both Local Chief Executives to preserve and protect the peace and development not only in their localities but in the entire province of Lanao del Norte.

The Governor also emphasized to them the economic opportunities given by the national government under the administration of President Duterte such as the realization of one of the catalytic projects in the country – the Panguil Bay Bridge (PBB).


The PBB will not only physically link the provinces of Misamis Occidental and Lanao del Norte but will also open new doors for economic opportunities and will serve as a gateway for development and progress in Northern Mindanao.


The Governor said she and the two District Representatives of Lanao del Norte, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo and Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo, strongly support peace initiatives emanating from the local government units towards the achievement of sustainable development by nurturing unity amongst the people.


Also present during the session to express their support were Vice Governor Maria Cristina N. Atay, Col. Charlemagne Batayola of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade, Police Major Nancy Bajolo of the Province Police Office, Lt Col Alfonso Matias, Jr, commander of the 5th Mechanized Battalion, and DILG Provincial Director Bruce A.
