Mambajao enacts rules and guidelines for marketers, store owners

CAMIGUIN (PIA)–In view of the urgency and public health concern, the Office of the Sangguniang Bayan ordained the adoption of Executive Order No. 18, declaring rules and guidelines for all marketers, shoppers, and store owners during the Preemptive Community Quarantine period, March  27.

In a unanimous agreement by all members, Municipal Ordinance No. 2020-09 applies to all 15 barangays in Mambajao. Any person who violates any of the provision or guideline will be punished with a fine worth P2,000.

The Office of the Municipal Mayor shall create a task force for the implementation of the ordinance.

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 18, all market goers in every barangay are given a one-hour scheduled time of purchase within 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Only persons with Quarantine Pass (QP) supported with a valid identification card are allowed.

Means of transportation are available at pick up areas identified by the barangay. Private vehicles are allowed provided that there is no other passenger and must observe social distancing, in case of non-air conditioned private services.

All sari-sari stores should only operate from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM daily. They should present a copy of their business permits during purchase at the store/general merchandise.

The Preemptive Community Quarantine has been declared in the province from March 24 up until April 12, 2020. It may be lifted earlier or be extended as the circumstances warrant. (Marc Ian A. Salem/PIA10)
