MAMBAJAO, Camiguin (PIA)—Amid the COVID-19 contagion, the Municipal Government of Mambajao extends the deadline for the second quarter payment of business tax and fees without incurring interests, penalties or surcharges.
Based on Municipal No. 2020-09-A, SB Term 2019-2022, the Sangguniang Bayan of Mambajao noted that the preemptive community quarantine implemented in the province through Executive Order No. 15 has affected the operations and financial capability of businesses in the municipality.
Thus, there is a need to afford owners of businesses some sort of relief in the payment of business licenses and fees.
The extension of time for accepting second quarter payments of business license and fees falls within the purview of a tax relief sanctioned by Section 192 of Republic Act No. 7160 or the Local Government Code.
The payment for business tax and fees due and payable to the local government for the current year which is due on or before April 20 can be paid not later than May 29, 2020 without interest, penalties or surcharges. (RTP/PIA10)
