Mambajao postpones crowd drawing events

MAMBAJAO, Camiguin, Mar. 16 (PIA)–Due to the growing threat of COVID-19 to infect large numbers of people through crowds and large gatherings, Mambajao Municipal Mayor Yñigo Jesus Romualdo temporarily postpones all crowd-drawing activities and other related activities in the municipality, March 14.

Pursuant to the Executive Order No. 11 series of 2020, Romualdo clarifies crowd drawing activities as events constituted by 30 or more individuals coming together for a gathering such as fiestas or festivities, school reunions and homecomings, athletic activities, general meetings, workshops, seminars, cockfights, benefit dances, discos, concerts, live and/or acoustic bands, processions, parade, pageants, and mass gatherings or assemblies.

However, the conduct of functions and meetings for both public and private sectors shall be allowed, provided that the number of individuals attending these activities will not constitute crowd drawing activity.

Daily routines such as grocery, market day, and the like are not included provided that precautionary measures shall be observed.

Additionally, activities in both private and public schools such recognition day, moving-up, graduation, or commencement exercises shall also be suspended until further notice.

The Corona Virus Task Force, the Rural Health Unit of Mambajao, and the Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office are activated to provide advisories and guidelines relative to precautionary measures to be undertaken by the public. (Marc Ian A. Salem/PIA 10)
