Mambajao sets rules to market goers amid community quarantine

CAMIGUIN, Mar. 24 (PIA)–In the entire duration of the Preemptive Community Quarantine, rules and regulations for all marketers, shoppers, and store owners in Mambajao town has been set, March 23. 

Pursuant to the Executive Order No. 18, all market goers should follow the one-hour time limit schedule for every barangay. At 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM, residents of Barangays Tupsan, Quiboro, and Binunsaran  are allowed. 

It is followed by Barangay Benhaan and Barangay Quipasa on the next hour, followed by Barangay Magting and Barangay Lumad. Barangays Anito and Bolocboloc comes after, succeeded by Barangay Balbagon and Barangay Lakas, and Barangays Pandan and Lower Poblacion  at 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. 

At 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, market goers of Barangays Soro-soro, Baylao, Umycco/Mabini are allowed. It is followed by Barangay Naasag and Barangay Comon, then followed by Barangay Yumbing and Barangay Cabua-an on the next hour. 

Allowed next are Barangays Agoho and Mercy, succeeded by the Barangay Tagdo and Barangay Balintawak. Lastly, Barangays Bug-ong, Kuguita, and Lagundi are allowed at 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, respectively.

Only persons with Quarantine Pass (QP) are allowed to go to the market on their scheduled time. They must bring their Identification card (ID) and/or cedula at all times.

Means of transportation for the marketers and shoppers are made available during the scheduled time. Pick up area/s are identified by the barangay. 

Private vehicles are allowed to be used granting that there is no back ride for motorcycles and no other passenger for air-conditioned private cars. Non-air conditioned private services like multicabs may carry passengers, rest assured that social distancing is still practiced. 

In going to the market, sari-sari store owners must follow the barangay/sitio schedules presented. They must present to the store/general merchandise a copy of the business permit during purchase to avail the stipulated limit for consumers under the category of retailer, sari-sari store, restaurant, hotel, and the like.

All sari-sari stores in Mambajao are only allowed to open and operate for two hours daily, from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM. (MIAS/PIA10)
