Mambajao suspends amusement places, ukay-ukay

CAMIGUIN (PIA)–For public health and safety purposes, the Municipal Government of Mambajao temporarily closed all types of amusement places and entertainment business establishment including ‘ukay-ukay’ (assorted clothing) businesses and dry goods sections at new public market building, March 22.


In accordance with the Executive Order No. 17, all types of amusement places and entertainment business establishments such as billiards, basketball court, volleyball courts, internet café, computer games Café, disco house, KTV bar, and the like will be closed.


The order clarifies that an amusement includes all sites where facilities for amusement or entertainment are provided. A site may be considered as a place of amusement even if a particular place offers educational value in addition to enjoyment, entertainment, or amusement.


All ‘ukay-ukay’ establishments including those commercial areas owned by the local government unit being leased to vendors should follow the order.


All dry goods establishments at New Public Market along P. Reyes Street selling ready to wear (RTW) clothes, garments and textiles, shoes, toys, and the like will be closed except those establishment selling basic goods and necessities as determined by the local authorities.


Rental payments for the said establishments that are leased from LGU-Mambajao is suspended starting April until further notice.


Due to the growing concern on the possible exposure of the virus through second hand imported clothes or ‘ukay-ukay’ from countries reported to have COVID-19 cases being raised by the local health authorities, the order has been made for public health and safety purposes. (MIAS/PIA 10)
