MARAWI CITY (PIA ICCC) — The homeowners of the barangays Tolali and Daguduban in the most affected area (MAA) here have started to repair or construct their homes through Kathagombalay.
Spearheaded by Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM), Kathagombalay is the processing of applications for the repair or construction of houses inside MAA.
To date, more than 1,000 homeowners from barangays Tolali, Daguduban, Moncado Cadingilan, Kapantaran, Moncado Colony, Norhaya Village, Sabala Manao, have received a building permit from the Office of the Building Official (OBO) of the city government of Marawi.
Eighty-seven homeowners in Barangay Tolali, sector 1 have started constructing their houses since December 2019 while 43 homeowners from Barangay Daguduban started the construction and repair last Feb. 5.
Sittie Hajar Cosain Ibrahim, a homeowner from Barangay Tolali, expressed her gratitude that she has finally started repairing her house.
“Nagpapasalamat kasi ako during and after the siege, anjan ang ating pangulo. Nagpapasalamat ako dahil sa initiative ng aming barangay chairman, amingmayor at sa TFBM dahil natupad na ang aming kagustuhan na masimulan namin ang pagpapaayos ng aming bahay,” said Ibrahim.
(We are grateful because during and after the siege, the president is here. We are thankful because with the initiative of our barangay chairman, our mayor, and TFBM, our want to start the repair of our house has been fulfilled.)
Meanwhile, Alahoden Abunabilah of Barangay Daguduban urged his fellow homeowners in MAA to start processing their applications for Kathagombalay.
“Ang payo ko sa kanila, kailangan ihanda nila ang mga papeles para makasimula nang makapag-ayos o makapagpatayo sa kanilang bahay ( I advised them to get their papers ready so they could start repairing/building their houses),”said Abunabilah.
TFBM launched Kathagombalay in July 2019, which gathers concerned member-agencies like the National Housing Authority (NHA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and OBO to allow the MAA residents to process all the documents before returning to their home.
NHA and DENR will resume the processing of the applications for the homeowners of Sectors 1 to 7 on Feb. 12, 2020. (Lou Ellen L. Antonio/PIA ICCC)
